Privacy Policy

Fixy is a product of Swrl LLC ("Fixy", "we"). This policy explains what Fixy collects, why, who sees it and the choices you have. It covers the Fixy website, the contractor workspace and every contractor's request form, including when the form appears inside a contractor's own website. Fixy is for people and businesses in the United States.

What Fixy collects

From people who send a request: what they write, their answers, their photos, their name, phone, email, address and ZIP code, notes about getting in and the time they prefer. If they use the mic or talk to Fixy AI, the text of what they said. The messages they send the contractor, and whether they asked for text updates. Fixy does not use anyone's voice to identify them and does not create voiceprints.

From contractors: the business name, trades and service area; your name, email and password (stored only in scrambled form); phone numbers; your logo; and the license, insurance and photo ID you upload to get verified. Also what you do with each request: visits, estimates, invoices, messages and notes.

Automatically: basic technical details such as IP address, browser type and times, to keep Fixy running and to stop spam and abuse.

How it is used

• To deliver each request to the contractor it was sent to, and let both sides follow up: change, cancel, ask for another time or send a message.
• To send the emails and texts each person asked for.
• To show each contractor their requests, their history and how many they received.
• To keep Fixy safe by spotting spam, bots and abuse.
• To answer questions, fix problems and follow the law.

Fixy does not use your information to train AI models, does not sell it and does not use it for advertising.

How AI is used

Fixy sends what people write, their answers, their photos and their messages to an AI service (OpenAI) to ask follow-up questions, write a short summary and translate between English and Spanish. Names, phone numbers, emails and addresses are not sent to that service unless someone types them into the description or a message.

If you use the mic or talk to Fixy AI, your voice goes to the same AI service (OpenAI) to be turned into text. Fixy keeps the text, not the recording. When you talk to Fixy AI, everything you say, including your name, phone and address, goes through that service. Fixy AI is an AI assistant, not a person, and says so when the conversation starts.

OpenAI processes this information only to give Fixy its answer. Under its terms for business customers, OpenAI does not use it to train its models, and keeps it for up to 30 days to check for abuse before deleting it.

AI can make mistakes. Anything translated says "Translated by Fixy AI", and the original is one tap away.

Text messages

If you ask for text messages, Fixy texts you from its own number only about your service requests. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop and HELP for help. We do not share or sell mobile numbers or text consent to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. None of the sharing described in this policy includes text message opt-in data or consent: that information is not shared with any third parties.

Contractors and your request

Each request form belongs to a contractor. When you send a request, that contractor receives it and decides how to follow up. Fixy's Terms allow contractors to use requests only to respond to the people who sent them, never to sell them or send marketing. For questions about how a contractor handles your information after they receive it, ask them directly.

Who sees it

• The contractor you sent the request to.
• Fixy's team, only to run, support and protect Fixy, and to check contractors' documents.
• Companies that run parts of Fixy for us, only for that job: Railway (servers and storage), OpenAI (AI), Resend (email) and SignalWire (text messages). They may use it only to provide their service to Fixy.
• Anyone the law requires, such as under a valid court order, or when needed to protect the safety or rights of people or of Fixy.
• If Swrl LLC sells or merges the Fixy business, the new owner would have to protect your information as this policy says.

Fixy does not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, as those terms are used in state privacy laws. Sending a request does not subscribe you to marketing or authorize automated calls or texts.

Cookies and Do Not Track

Fixy uses only the cookies it needs to sign you in and protect forms. It has no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and no other company collects information about you through Fixy's pages. Because Fixy does not track you across websites or sell or share your information, nothing changes when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal: there is nothing for those signals to turn off.

Photos and files

Fixy removes location data from photos before storing them. Contractors' verification documents are seen only by Fixy's team, never by customers.

How long it is kept

• Requests someone starts but never sends are deleted after 7 days, with their photos.
• Voice recordings are not kept. Only the text is kept, with the request.
• Requests, photos, messages and their history stay in the contractor's account so both sides can look back at them, until the contractor deletes their account or someone asks us to delete them.
• When a contractor deletes their account, Fixy removes their page, the requests they received with their photos, their sign-in details and their documents. Records of finished jobs from the Fixy app may be kept as business records without personal details.
• Fixy keeps a list of numbers that replied STOP so it never texts them again, and may keep other records the law requires.

Your choices and rights

• You can ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to contact@swrlsite.com. We answer within 45 days. We may need to confirm it is you, for example with a message from the email or phone number on the request.
• To stop texts, reply STOP or use "Stop text updates for this request" on your request page.
• Contractors can update their details in Fixy and delete their account under Account.
• Depending on the state you live in, the law may give you more rights over your information. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever they live, and will not treat you differently for asking.

Security

Fixy uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), stores passwords only in scrambled form and limits who on our team can see private files. No system is perfect, so please do not put bank details or passwords in a request. If a security breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

Children

Fixy is for adults and businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we also tell contractors by email or in Fixy before it takes effect.
